Messi Scores in Inter Miami Club Friendly
Late Goal Gives Al Hilal 4-3 Win
Messi Leaves Pitch Feeling Relief
Lionel Messi scored a goal in Inter Miami CF's club friendly against Al Hilal on Sunday, but it wasn't enough to give his team the win. Al Hilal scored a late header to secure a 4-3 victory, leaving Messi with a sense of relief as he left the pitch with about seven minutes remaining.
Messi had a quiet game by his standards, but he did manage to score a beautiful goal in the 34th minute. The Argentine maestro received a pass from Alejandro Pozuelo on the left wing and cut inside before unleashing a curling shot into the top corner of the net.
However, Al Hilal fought back and took the lead in the second half thanks to goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic and Abdullah Al-Hamddan. Inter Miami CF equalized through Michael Delgado, but Malcom's late header proved to be the winner.
The result was a disappointing one for Inter Miami CF, but it was a good workout for Messi as he continues to prepare for the upcoming MLS season.
